A safe start in traffic – Lasten Apu ry's Traffic Skills campaign for daycare centers and schools
The Finnish Children's Aid Association does concrete work for children's road safety. We publish bilingual Children's Traffic Skills magazine and guide, which are designed specifically for the needs of early childhood education and primary schools. In addition, we supply safety products and educational materials directly to daycare centers and schools – from printing to delivery, easily and effortlessly.
This is how the campaign works – safety starts with cooperation
Together with our partners, we deliver four times a year seasonal, task-based traffic safety magazines, which children can use both in kindergarten and take home. Along with the magazines, clear and illustrated guides for traffic safety training.
The campaign is always carried out in good cooperation with the kindergarten or school - we agree on the delivery of materials in advance, and we note the number and age of childrenso that each child receives the appropriate amount of material at just the right level.
Safety is a shared concern – since 2005
The Traffic Skills campaign, launched in 2005 and reinvigorated in 2022, has spread to several locations across Finland – and has been very well received. Although the campaign is nationwide, we always operate locally, close to children and educators.
